JD McDonagh fired back at Corey Graves for his ‘Minecraft skull’ joke on WWE RAW with a Pat McAfee remark.
JD McDonagh has often been teased by WWE Superstars for the size of his head. That joke came up again during his recent match on WWE RAW, when Corey Graves took a shot at him on commentary. While McDonagh faced AJ Styles on RAW, Graves said, “It’s not JD’s fault he was born with the skull of a Minecraft character.”
JD McDonagh responded on Instagram stories with a dig at Corey Graves. McDonagh mentioned Graves always seems to get relegated whenever Pat McAfee returns on WWE RAW. He wrote, “It’s also not my fault you get relegated every time Pat McAfee is available on a Monday”

McDonagh’s comment referenced the recent changes to WWE’s commentary teams after the company’s transition to Netflix. This saw Pat McAfee rejoin RAW with Michael Cole, leading to Graves being reassigned to NXT. Graves had shown frustration at the time, posting a now-deleted tweet many thought was aimed at McAfee.
Even though recent reports say WWE and Corey Graves have moved past the issue, JD McDonagh didn’t hold back. He used Graves’ own joke as a way to hit back and stay in character as a heel by bringing up Pat McAfee.
