Time is ticking down on Athena‘s chances of getting booked on AEW All In: Texas next month.
Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion Athena recently spoke with Rick Ucchino of Sports Illustrated. When asked about the potential of getting a match on AEW All In: Texas next month, which is the company’s biggest show of the year, Athena said she doesn’t know if it’s in the stars but admitted she’d be super bummed if she’s not on the show.
“I don’t know if that’s in my stars,” Athena said. “If not, I have a Ring of Honor pay-per-view that I will probably be defending my championship on. You know, I would probably be super bummed out if I wasn’t on All In, but honestly, there’s still time.”
One of the ways to get on that card would be to be included in more storylines on AEW programming. Something that fans have been very vocal about in recent years. Athena hasn’t been seen on AEW programming since losing to Mercedes Mone in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament in Boston.
“It left me wanting so much more,” Athena said. “It left me wanting to do a full storyline with Mercedes Moné. I feel like I hold myself on such a high pedestal, because I feel like I always have people depending on me. Down from my indie company, down to my ROH locker room. We put our hearts on a platter, and I felt like in that moment, I was proud of myself.”
