Where is Britt Baker?
According to a source of former WWE personality Jonathan Coachman, Baker is leaving All Elite Wrestling as she is close to signing with WWE. “So I just found out there’s a name, a female name, out there that is this close to signing with WWE. Any guesses?” Coachman said on Behind the Turnbuckle, to which his co-host Tommy Carlucci guessed former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker.
“Ding, ding, ding, ding! Gone from AEW, close,” Coachman said. “My sources keep coming to your boy!”
Fightful Select has since issued a counter report to Coachman’s, indicating that Baker is still under contract with AEW. Additionally, the outlet noted that there are no imminent plans for Baker to leave AEW as she inked a five-year contract back in late 2021, which would keep her under contract for at least another year plus.
Baker is no stranger to the WWE bubble as she previously worked matches on WWE Raw and WWE NXT. Fans also saw her in attendance for some WWE NXT shows. A WWE source told Fightful that while Baker had been a welcomed guest to the company in the past, there have been no backstage discussions regarding her potentially coming to WWE in recent years.
Baker last wrestled on November 13, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, securing a win over Penelope Ford. Current creative plans, if any, for Baker in AEW are reportedly unknown.
