One of the top stars in the WWE women’s division is former WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. She has played the character of a baby face and the heel. One of the key elements of being a professional wrestler is to cut a good promo, which also includes trash-talking. The Queen recently shared what she believes is the key to talking trash as a heel.
Recently, Charlotte Flair was a special guest on the Games with Names podcast. During the episode, the Queen shared that the art of trash-talking as a heel depends on understanding what the good guy brings to the table. She also shared that the trash talker should be able to back whatever he or she says in the ring as well.
“See, I only talk like if I could back it up in the ring. That’s when I feel like the most confident. Beating Ronda [Rousey] to death in her own hometown. It was pretty devilish. It really just depends on the opponent. Every good guy is different. Or what they bring to the table that makes the fans like them. So, you try to attack that. That’s how I look at it.”
Charlotte Flair also shared that the trash talking in WWE is pretty much the same as the ones in any other sport between rival teams.
“It’s the same [like NFL trash talking] in wrestling. It’s the same. The lines are blurred. It’s the same. A 100%,” Charlotte Flair said.
Who do you think is the best trash-talker in WWE?
