Charlotte Flair Reveals How She Gets Into A Heel Mentality

Charlotte Flair likes being a baddie.

Fans once knew her as lovable royalty, but right now, Charlotte Flair is the heel “Queen,” with an affinity for arrogancy. During a recent appearance on Games With Names, Flair explained her approach to working as a heel, or bad guy, in WWE.

“[My mindset is] just breathing. Just breathing. I just have to be [full of piss and vinegar]. When I try to be nice or I try to be endearing, they, dislike it more. So then they boo louder. I’m like, ‘Well, you know what? I’m not going to tell you I had a bad day. I’m going to make you hate me and just say I’m the greatest, that I didn’t have to work for this.’ Well, being a legacy wrestler and your dad’s Ric Flair, it doesn’t make it easy on you. And I’ve won a lot of matches, titles, had a lot of opportunities.”

“… That’s the mindset you have to always have being that bad guy. Knowing I’m the greatest. I know my dad and I are gonna need our own wing,” she added.

When asked which character dynamic she enjoys more, babyface or heel, Flair circled the latter. “Being the bad guy, it’s more fun,” she said.

Most recently, Flair competed in a first round match in the 2025 Queen of the Ring tournament, with crowd favorite Alexa Bliss emerging victorious. As Flair had Alba Fyre wrapped in a Figure Eight, Bliss laid out Candice LeRae with a Sister Abigail for a match-winning pinfall just moments before Fyre tapped out to Flair. Afterward, Bliss and Flair had an intense stare-off.
