Cody Rhodes’ Role In The Naked Gun Revealed

Cody Rhodes is looking a little different in The Naked Gun.

In April 2024, DailyMail.com reported that Rhodes has been cast in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot. His role was said to be a cameo, and he “may be hypnotized.” Although unconfirmed, this is a nod to the plot of the original movie.

That film, released in 1988, featured post-hypnotic influence to make random people assassins. (Shout out to Enrico Pallazzo, the famed Italian opera singer.) Rhodes’ role was officially confirmed the next month, but details about his exact role were not revealed at the time.

A new trailer released on Monday revealed a bit more detail, although it doesn’t completely confirm his role. Rhodes is clearly featured in one scene included in the trailer. Rhodes is sporting a bad wig and comically large eyebrows. He appears to be playing a bartender who interacts with the lead character, Frank Drebin, Jr. (Liam Neeson). Drebin slams Rhodes’ character’s face on the bar, and he pops up to reveal a disfigured face. The “hyponitized” part is still unclear. However, it seems likely that he’s playing a villain based on the interaction with Drebin Jr.

Dashing Cody Rhodes is once again disfigured.

What is The Naked Gun about?

The Naked Gun reboot is directed and executive-produced by Akiva Schaffer. It is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2025. In addition to Neeson and Rhodes, the cast includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Busta Rhymes, Liza Koshy, and CCH Pounder.

This is a reboot of the original Naked Gun series. The original films featured the late Leslie Nielsen, who played Lt. Frank Drebin of Police Squad. However, it also looks to be a sequel (or “requel”), as Neeson plays his son, Frank Jr.
