Elayna Black Comments On Her Potential Future In AEW

Former WWE NXT Superstar Cora Jade, now going by Elayna Black, says she loves AEW and has been watching it since day one.

During her interview with TMZ Sports, Elayna Black discussed her future in wrestling. She admitted that, for the first time, she’s not overly focused on what’s ahead.

“For the first time ever I’m trying not to focus too much on the future because I feel like I maybe did a little bit too much of that and was always focused on the next thing and what’s coming next and maybe not fully enjoying it as much as I should’ve and I feel like right now is the time where I want to do that. I want to wrestle and I want to wrestle permanently somewhere, whether that call comes from AEW or if it comes from WWE again one day I am not sure, but I am open to whatever.”

She remained open to opportunities, whether they come from AEW or WWE. She also shared her admiration for AEW and highlighted its creative freedom.

“I absolutely love AEW, I have been watching it since it first started, I just love wrestling and I feel like I’ve said before they have so much creative freedom which I love. I love the stories and stuff like that.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]

Elayna Black was released from WWE alongside several Superstars in early May. She has since reverted to her previous ring name, Elayna Black. With her 30-day non-compete clause now expired. She is officially a free agent and free to wrestle anywhere. Recently, she shared a video on Twitter/X bidding farewell to Cora Jade as she begins her next journey in wrestling.

Elayna Black says WWE release brought her unexpected relief

Talking about her WWE release, Elayna Black shared that it brought her an overwhelming sense of relief, unlike anything she had felt before.

“Amazing. I feel like, obviously, it comes in waves,” Elayna Black admitted. “No one wants to lose their dream job. But I’ve never felt such a sense of relief, almost. Just that the world is at my exposure to do whatever I want, whether it’s I am going to continue wrestling. But whatever other opportunities come after this, I’m really excited and I feel… For the first time in a while, very happy with the present and just how life is right now.”
