What is the reported reason for WWE not renewing R-Truth‘s contract?
Earlier this week, the WWE Universe was left in a state of shock when R-Truth revealed that he had been informed that the company was releasing him. Despite his wording, the company isn’t actually releasing Truth and has chosen just to let his current contract run out.
But why is WWE allowing Truth’s current contract to expire?
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE allowing R-Truth’s contract to expire is a financial decision. Meltzer states that Truth’s current contract is so high that the company felt it made no sense with the way they are using him.
While WWE might be letting him go, there’s already interest in him from another company. As TNA Wrestling is reportedly ready to make him an offer when his current contract expires.
Truth had a very important run early in TNA’s existence as Ron “The Truth” Killings, where he had a run as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.
