Nic Nemeth Has No Memory Of A Ridiculous Battle Royal Format He Competed In

Nic Nemeth had plenty of memorable moments in his WWE career, but this “unorthodox” battle royal isn’t one of them.

WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard spoke with Nic and Ryan Nemeth, aka the Hollywood Heels, ahead of TNA’s return to Arizona for Against All Odds. Nic Nemeth has competed in several high-profile matches in Arizona during his career, most of them coming when he was known as Dolph Ziggler in WWE.

He competed in championship matches against CM Punk, and won the 2012 Money In The Bank ladder match in Phoenix. However, one match stands out among the list of his matches in the Grand Canyon State, as he once competed in a six-man battle royal that lasted all of 3 minutes and 50 seconds.

NXT once ran a 6-man, 4-minute battle royal

According to Cagematch, the match took place on January 4, 2011, at an NXT event in Tucson, Arizona. Dolph Ziggler, Chris Masters, Daniel Bryan, R-Truth, Ricardo Rodriguez and Ted DiBiase were the only participants listed in the match. As if the ridiculous match concept wasn’t funny enough, Nic Nemeth says he has no memory of the match at all.

“I wish [I remembered it]. I have nothing,” Nemeth said with a laugh. “That’s funny. I have no recollection of it. But man, working with Ted DiBiase Jr. was really fun. He was good and quick. He’s one of those guys that’s like Randy [Orton], who just has [wrestling] in his blood. But man, fighting with Daniel Bryan is always a blast, whether it’s a four-minute weird Battle Royal or like 30 minutes of us headbutting each other trying to outdo each other in the ring.

“That’s always a blast for me. I have no recollection of that match. But to be fair, I don’t have recollections of like some of my really good matches either,” he joked. “So, that there is in no way anything spectacular. But I am sure there was probably a lot of laughing involved. Hopefully, it was afterwards,” Nic Nemeth said.

If you aren’t sure if Nemeth is joking about remembering the match, he asked who won… he did!
