Drew McIntyre lost a steel cage match to Damian Priest last night at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. So what’s next for the SmackDown Superstar?
Prior to this match, Drew McIntyre made it clear to people in the media that he was working hurt. It now appears this loss is set to give McIntyre some much-deserved time off.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, McIntyre will be off WWE programming for the foreseeable future.
Johnson reports according to people backstage, McIntyre is set to be off WWE television for an “extended period of time.”
This was scheduled personal time off, allowing McIntyre to heal from injuries he’s accumulated in recent months. A date for McIntyre’s potential return to the company is currently unknown. This time off has nothing to do with recent reports that McIntyre might be up for a future role in Hollywood.
