Matt Cardona vs. Steve Maclin for the TNA International title rescheduled for next week’s TNA Impact.
Last week, TNA Impact featured a four-way match, where Matt Cardona battled Elijah, Ace Austin, and Mance Warner. Cardona sealed the win by hitting his signature Radio Silence on Austin, earning a shot at Steve Maclin’s TNA International Title at Under Siege.
Originally set for TNA Under Siege, the title match has been pushed back. A few weeks ago, Maclin defended his title in a punishing Dog Collar Match against Eric Young. Although Maclin emerged victorious, the brutal encounter left him with injuries that delayed the bout with Cardona.
On the TNA Impact, Matt Cardona appeared backstage holding a contract for his TNA International Championship match. He made it clear he was ready to go, but the match wasn’t happening not because of him, but because Maclin isn’t medically cleared to compete.
Cardona said he’s always ready, but also claimed Steve Maclin should just give up the title since he can’t compete. He called Santino Marella to make it happen. Marella showed up and told him that’s not how things work.
However, he did inform Cardona that Maclin would be medically cleared in a few days. As a result, the TNA International Title match is now set for next week’s episode of TNA Impact. With Maclin getting a few extra days to recover and Cardona eager to claim gold. All will be now on TNA Impact next week to see who walks out with the gold.
