JBL believes he knows what John Cena will do for his final match in WWE.
On the latest episode of the Something to Wrestle Podcast, WWE Hall of Famer JBL was asked who he believes John Cena’s final opponent this year will be. Layfield said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Cena put over a young talent to help elevate them to the main event picture.
“I don’t know if it’s Cody [Rhodes] or Roman [Reigns] to get Cena’s last opponent,” JBL began. “You got one of the biggest stars, and to have somebody that’s equal to Cena. There aren’t just a handful of people in the world that are equal to Cena. If it’s Brock [Lesnar], I don’t know who it’d be… The Rock’s so big that you forgot. It could be The Rock.
“I wouldn’t be surprised for Cena to choose somebody that is not in the main event picture right now and do the job, because that’s John Cena. John Cena is the most unselfish guy in the freaking world, and he loves this business. He’s the most respectful guy I’ve ever met in my life. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see him choose somebody that he knows is going to be a star, give him the rub and go out on his shield.” [H/T: Fightful]
