WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio recently shared how much his wedding band means to him.
While speaking on GQ Sports’ 10 Essentials series, Rey Mysterio shared that his wedding band is one of the most important that he carries with him at all times. He also mentioned that he hit the lottery by marrying his wife, Angie. The two are a year from celebrating their 30th Wedding Anniversary.
“My wedding band. To me, very important, especially after losing two of them prior to the third one. 29 years of solid foundation. I am truly blessed to have this woman by my side, Angie, who has given everything to help me pursue my career. Partner, wife, mother. I hit the lottery with my wife. Most definitely. So, funny enough, when you are going through that phase in your life where you are travelling constantly on the road, seeing your kids for a couple hours maybe one day, you really don’t stop and analyze all the hard work your spouse is putting in to keep that foundation strong and solid.”
Mysterio also shared that when the two hangout in public, fans recognize her first. It’s for a good reason too, as he doesn’t wear the mask at home in public. Fans then realize that the person she’s with is Rey Mysterio.
“Now, what you can say, in my personal life, stepping into my house and introducing them into the world of wrestling, now they won’t recognize me. But if I’m walking with my wife in a mall or at a restaurant, they’ll see her and they’ll go, ‘And that’s gotta be Rey.’ So, they recognize her first, and then they recognize me. And the same thing happens with my daughter. There’s nothing but love from all of us, the Mysterios, to all the fans in the world,” Rey Mysterio said.
