2025 will be a memorable year in professional wrestling history, as this will be the final year of 17-time WWE Champion John Cena as an active professional wrestler. For the past few years, former WWE World Tag Team Champion R-Truth has been claiming that Cena is his childhood hero. Would Truth like to wrestle his childhood hero before he retires?
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, R-Truth wondered if fans would be open to seeing him wrestle his childhood hero. He mentioned that if it is going to happen, it has to be done in the right way. He also commented on John Cena’s recent heel turn and mentioned that he likes Cody Rhodes.
“Y’all want to see that? But the only way we can see that though, it’s got to be the right way. The old me, I’m not a bad guy, I’m a good guy now, if you haven’t noticed that. I’m a good guy. I kiss the babies, I hug people, I don’t kick people in the nomads. So for that to happen, it would have to be a complete turnaround. So I don’t know, man, I would love to. Man, he did some wrong stuff, and I like Cody,” R-Truth said.
