WWE SmackDown Viewership Decreases On 5/2, Demo Also Drops

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on May 2 against the NHL and NBA Playoffs.

According to Programming Insider, SmackDown averaged 1.406 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.37 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is down from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.599 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week’s show (0.51 rating in the same demographic).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a back-and-forth promo between LA Knight and Damian Priest. This led to a match between the two that was eventually thrown out due to interference from Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu.

WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega defeated Piper Niven in a non-title match after a miscommunication between Niven and Chelsea Green.

Elsewhere on the show, Aleister Black returned to action for WWE, picking up a win over The Miz.

In the main event of the evening, Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill defeated Nia Jax and Naomi in tag team action.
