Pat McAfee is officially ready to return to the ring, and will be doing it at WWE Backlash against a very big foe.
During tonight’s episode of WWE RAW, McAfee addressed the crowd about Gunther’s attack against him last week. Standing on the announce table next to Cole, McAfee reflected on his roots and how far he’s come in his life. He spoke about loyalty, and then noted that, coming up in the world of wrestling, Michael Cole was always close to him.
He said that, as a result, he would always be loyal to Cole. When someone like Gunther tried to attack him, McAfee said it was only right he come to his aid. With that in mind, he demanded that Nick Aldis (who was acting as GM tonight) come out. Aldis came out and McAfee demanded he rescind Gunther’s suspension to let them fight.
Aldis said that he wouldn’t be doing that at all, for everyone’s sake. However, what he would do, and what’s best for business, is to let them fight it out in the ring. Aldis then offered McAfee a match against Gunther at WWE Backlash, to which McAfee accepted.
