John Cena believes in TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry.
Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena was a recent guest on The Pat McAfee Show. When the subject of Joe Hendry came up, Cena praised the TNA Champion and revealed some key advice he gave him when the two met at the Royal Rumble earlier this year.
“So Joe’s awesome,” John Cena said. “And I got a chance to meet Joe at the Rumble face to face. He had a small moment in the Rumble, and he’s like, hey, uh, you’re good at this. How do I make this more? And I gave him some advice, like, you don’t. You go out there and you make your moment, your moment. When you try to make your moment more than is given, that’s selfish, and you’re a small piece of a greater show.
“And I thought he did excellent at the Rumble. And last night, I thought he was brilliant. What I got to do is if I don’t know that kid, I got to know him. He got to do his stuff. He got to be in a WrestleMania match with Randy Orton, and he got a fantastic moment. And giving Randy his 20th WrestleMania, but we got an introduction on a large level to Joe Hendry.
“Just because I didn’t bring his name up doesn’t mean I’m sour on the kid. I think he’s gonna be a major player because he loves it, and he gets it right. He’s got a great mind.”
