WWE SmackDown Viewership Increases On 4/18, Demo Also Rises

WWE SmackDown saw an increase in viewership on April 18 heading into WWE WrestleMania 41.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.741 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.55 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.551 million viewers tuned in. The demo also rose from last week’s show (0.45 rating in the same demographic).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a promo from Seth Rollins, who hyped his match against CM Punk and Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 41.

Carmelo Hayes shockingly won this year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, tossing out Andrade to win the match.

Elsewhere on the show, Randy Orton came to the ring and declared that he would have an open challenge match at WrestleMania.

In the closing segment of the evening, Cody Rhodes and John Cena had another back-and-forth promo that ended with Rhodes laying out Cena again.
