Notorious Mimi did what she had to do.
For weeks, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has attempted to gain three votes of confidence from The Hurt Syndicate. And for weeks, he’s failed. Still, that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to try, with his latest offer including his silver watch and a line of escorts on AEW Dynamite.
One of the escorts was played by independent wrestler Notorious Mimi, formerly known as WWE NXT’s Sloane Jacobs. According to Mimi, this venture came with the added incentive of being on the same broadcast as a marquee match.
“Sometimes you gotta go on some side quests to get on the same show as Mercedes vs Athena,” Mimi wrote. “#AEWDynamite.”
TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and ROH Women’s Champion Athena opened this week’s AEW Dynamite with a semi-finals match in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament. For many, including Athena herself, this came as a dream encounter in general, given that the two have never faced off in a one-on-one capacity. In the end, Mone emerged victorious after reversing an O-Face into a roll-up. As such, she now advances to the finals, with either Jamie Hayter or Kris Statlander as her opponent.
Later in the show, MJF offered The Hurt Syndicate a night out with Mimi and several other women, if MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley gave him three thumbs up to join their group. MVP has already given MJF a stamp of approval. Benjamin and Lashley, however, have repeatedly denied his offers. That continued with his latest as well.
Mimi, a graduate of the Monster Factory, currently reigns as the Pro Wrestling Magic Women’s Champion. In 2022, fans knew her as Sloane Jacobs, a talent on NXT and NXT Level Up. In November of that same year, Mimi received her released from WWE, then later returned to the independent wrestling circuit. She’s also made appearances on Ring of Honor and MLW.
