There were people in high places who believed in Damian Priest when he signed his WWE contract back in 2018.
SmackDown Superstar Damian Priest recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. While reflecting on joining the NXT roster in 2018, Priest revealed his approach to things caught the attention of Triple H, who helped establish him as a leader in the locker room.
“Triple H had faith in me,” Damian Priest said. “He put me in a leadership position when I came in. When something was going wrong and we’d have these all-in meetings, he’d say, ‘Let the talent handle this.’ And he’d say, ‘Priest, be the one who talks.’ This was the Adam Cole, Undisputed Era, and there were a lot of stars here. I felt honored.”
Priest will face Drew McIntyre this weekend at WrestleMania 41 in a Sin City Street Fight.
