Is Mariah May leaving All Elite Wrestling to head to WWE later this year?
The former Women’s World Champion hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since failing to reclaim that title against Toni Storm last month at Revolution. In recent weeks, there have been a lot of reports and speculation about May’s future with AEW and a potential jump to WWE.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez spoke about what Mariah May’s next step might be.
Meltzer stated that those within WWE “know she wants to go there.” Alvarez piled on by stating that there are those in AEW who believe she’s leaving when her contract expires later this year.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) has also chimed in on Mariah May’s status. Sapp states that those he’s spoken to claim she’s being wise and maximizing her leverage and negotiating power between the two companies.
Despite significant interest from WWE, Sapp reports that AEW absolutely hopes to retain her.
