WWE SmackDown Viewership Increases On 4/4, Demo Also Rises

WWE SmackDown saw an increase in viewership on April 4.

According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 1.578 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.47 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.350 million viewers tuned in. The demo also rose from last week’s show (0.40 rating in the same demographic).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with a promo from CM Punk, which was interrupted by Paul Heyman wanting to know what the favor is. Punk said he’d tell Heyman when Roman Reigns arrived.

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair had a face-to-face promo in the ring that reportedly went off script.

Elsewhere on the show, Kevin Owens announced his neck injury and said it will require surgery. Needless to say, his WrestleMania 41 match with Randy Orton is now off the table.

In the closing segment of the evening, CM Punk revealed to Roman Reigns that his favor to Paul Heyman is that the Wise Man needs to be in his corner for their triple-threat match with Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41.
