Tony Khan speaks on the recent report regarding AEW’s viewership numbers on MAX.
All Elite Wrestling President Tony Khan recently participated in an AEW Dynasty Media Call. When asked about the recent report of Dynamite viewership on MAX, Khan said he was excited by the report. And while that information is held close to the vest, the report lines up with what he has heard.
“It’s a great question. I was excited about that report,” Tony Khan said. “And I’ve been excited to hear from the Warner Brothers Discovery executives that AEW is one of the top sports events, week in, week out, every week on MAX. And we’ve been doing great numbers. From everything I’ve been told in the streaming industry, the numbers are very confidential. We were told we would not necessarily be getting the same amount of data every week, and that’s been the case.
“I haven’t gotten the weekly reports like we do from the Nielsen data with cable ratings. So I don’t know the numbers every week. All I know is we’re one of the top shows, and those numbers are very consistent with one of the top shows on MAX streaming, which I think the only other public report there had ever been, which I understood was a report directly from Warner Brothers Discovery is that we’re one of the top sports streaming shows, so I think that bodes really well for us…

“It’s a really exciting time for the AEW Warner Brothers Discovery relationship, and I thought that was a really exciting report for AEW, and very consistent with everything we’ve been told that while the numbers are being kept close to the vest, we’re one of the top sports streaming shows. And everything in that report was consistent with what I’ve heard.”
