How Does Lexis King Get His Beard To Look Like That?

Lexis King has one of the most… unique beards in professional wrestling and spends a lot of money keeping it looking that way.

Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Lexis King detailed how his iconic beard came to be. He explained that Carmelo Hayes got him in touch with a Peruvian barber who transformed his face and gave him the look that he is famous for now.

The NXT star added that he spends hundreds of dollars each week making the beard look how it does, which for some reason he actually likes.

“It is a very expensive procedure, I will say, but every week, I spend a few hundred and go to a guy named Charlie. He is a Peruvian man and a local barber shop owner. In fact, he owns several barber shops around Orlando—I think there are like four or five of them—and he is the utmost professional. This is like his artwork,” Lexis King said.

“It takes him two hours to get my beard done. Again, he’s not cutting my hair; he’s trimming up the sides and doing the beard. He’s not touching any of this, you know what I mean? He spends two hours with a razor, then a paintbrush, and applies all the enhancements. Every little detail is done meticulously to be his artwork, his unique design.”

After going through a few different designs, King says he finally settled on one that’s his “iconic” look. He’s not sure why he reached out to Hayes for help, but it’s paying off.

“It all started when I moved here and needed to find a barber. I don’t know why, but I decided to go through my contacts. Carmelo Hayes was someone I was cool with because we had run into each other on the indies a few times. I didn’t know a lot of the guys here, so I asked him, ‘Hey man, I’ve got this TV thing Tuesday, and I need to get a haircut. Do you know where I can go?'”

“He sent me to the right place, and it completely changed things. I showed up one day with a spray tan and my beard all lined up, and people were like, ‘That’s it. Keep doing it.'”
