FOX Denies Involvement In Rumored Vince McMahon Project

FOX says if Vince McMahon is getting back into the wrestling business, it’s not with them.

McMahon resigned from WWE and TKO in January 2024 after sexual assault and trafficking allegations were made against him by Janel Grant, a former employee. Despite being involved in the scandal, PWInsider reported in October 2024 that McMahon was preparing to launch a new entertainment company.

A recent episode of the 83 Weeks podcast featured Conrad Thompson and Eric Bischoff discussing the rumors about McMahon’s new company. Thompson said he heard “whispers” about McMahon hiring former WWE executives and talking to wrestling cameramen for the new project. He also shared that he heard an unconfirmed rumor that FOX might be involved in McMahon’s plans.

Thompson thought it was oddly specific that McMahon was in talks with cameramen familiar with taping wrestling. However, he initially dismissed the talk and was clear that what he heard was a rumor. However, he also wondered why McMahon would be at the Super Bowl, which was broadcast on FOX this year. He asked Bischoff if he thought there was truth to it or just a conspiracy. Bischoff said he heard similar rumors. Bischoff could believe McMahon wants another run in the wrestling business. Despite that, he couldn’t wrap his head around why FOX would want to be involved.

FOX spokesperson denies involvement in Vince McMahon’s plans

The story appears to be just a rumor, at least where FOX is concerned. The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand is reporting that a FOX spokesman denied the network’s involvement. Marchand shared FOX’s response by issuing the following statement on Tuesday afternoon:

“There is a report that Vince McMahon might start a wrestling company with Fox as a partner. If McMahon is planning that or not, I don’t know, but the Fox part is not true, according to a network spokesman,” Marchand wrote on Twitter/X.
