WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on August 16.
According to Wrestlenomics, SmackDown averaged 2.252 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.14 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. These numbers are down from last week’s episode when an average of 2.269 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dipped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.64 rating in the same demographic.
SmackDown still topped the night in the demographic on cable.
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with Nia Jax’s championship celebration presented by Michin and Pretty Deadly. It was interrupted by Michin wielding a kendo stick.
Carmelo Hayes finally picked up a win over Andrade, it seems like this feud isn’t ending anytime soon.
Elsewhere on the show, Street Profits defeated DIY to earn the right to challenge The Bloodline next week for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Santos Escobar will also challenge LA Knight next week for the United States Championship.
The closing segment saw Roman Reigns once again confront Solo Sikoa and the new Bloodline. Reigns took out Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga before being taken out by the returning Jacob Fatu to end the show.
