AEW Dynamite Viewership Increases On 8/14, Demo Also Rises

AEW Dynamite saw another increase in viewership on August 14.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, 703,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night and drew a 0.23 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode when 622,000 viewers tuned in. The demo also rose from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.19 rating in the same demographic.

Dynamite topped cable television for Wednesday.

What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Mercedes Moné defeating Hikaru Shida to retain the AEW TBS Championship. Britt Baker attacked Mercedes after the match before the champion was saved by Kamille.

Hangman Page picked up a win over Jay Lethal. Page attacked Lethal and Jeff Jarrett backstage before the match began.

The Young Bucks defeated The Acclaimed by disqualification after FTR got involved and tried to prevent Matthew Jackson from cheating. FTR will now face The Acclaimed Saturday night on Collision.

The main event saw Swerve Strickland defeat Wheeler Yuta via referee stoppage. Strickland hit Bryan Danielson with the House Call to close the show.
