A new title match has been added to the card for AEW All In.
FTW Champion Chris Jericho previously took HOOK out by blasting him with a fireball on the July 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. HOOK returned on the August 7 episode and took the fight to Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith.
HOOK then appeared on the August 14 episode of AEW Dynamite, and his eye was bandaged. He noted that he could not see out of that eye. However, he said that he could still see out of the other one. HOOK then called out Chris Jericho, saying that he wanted to face him then and there.
Chris Jericho responded, as he came to the stage alongside Bill and Keith. He rejected HOOK’s challenge to a match on the spot, saying it would not be worth his while. But he agreed to give HOOK a title shot at AEW All In. Jericho named his terms by telling HOOK that this match would be his last shot. He said that if he lost, he would have to leave the Jericho Vortex forever.
Jericho also said that HOOK would have to face Big Bill on the August 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, and HOOK accepted. He then told Chris Jericho that after their match, he would never be the same.
Chris Jericho previously beat HOOK to win the FTW Championship at AEW Dynasty. He retained the title against HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata at AEW Double or Nothing. HOOK and Jericho also clashed in a trios match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
