Hiromu Takahashi has challenged Mustafa Ali to face him at NJPW Capital Collision.
The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion has not wrestled at all this month. He has not been a part of the G1 Climax 34, but he wants to avenge his loss against Mustafa Ali from earlier this year.
Hiromu Takahashi previously battled Mustafa Al in April at NJPW Windy City Riot. This was Ali’s first match in New Japan, and he started off with a win against one of the company’s greatest-ever junior heavyweight champions.
Mustafa Ali only wrestled once more in NJPW since then, as he focused on his work in TNA. He recently held the X-Division Championship, but he looks set to return for a match with Hiromu Takahashi at NJPW Capital Collision.
In a new video posted to NJPW’s Twitter account, Hiromu Takahashi challenged Mustafa Ali to a match on their August 30th show in Washington, DC.
In a promo, he mentioned the loss in their previous match and signaled his intent for revenge. He then challenged Ali to a match before immediately accepting it on his behalf.
“Mustafa Ali. It’s been a while.” Hiromu Takahashi said. “You beat me back in Chicago, so how about I get a chance at revenge? Say… August 30th in Washington DC, you and I fight each other? Okay, it’s settled. See you soon!”
While not yet official, it is expected that this match will be added to NJPW Capital Collision. The event will take place on August 30th, 2024, at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
