Drew McIntyre Shows Off His Wounds After CM Punk Whipped Him With A Belt On WWE RAW

Drew McIntyre was in rough shape after CM Punk‘s attack on WWE RAW.

The feud between the two stars eached a new level at WWE Summerslam. Drew McIntyre pinned CM Punk in Cleveland in a bout that was eight months in the making.

However, McIntyre took a bracelet made by a fan that Punk wore, enraging the former world champion. This encouraged CM Punk to continue the rivalry with a vicious assault on Raw.

Despite Adam Pearce announcing that he had travel issues, CM Punk ran from the crowd to attack Drew McIntyre in Raw. He took McIntyre’s own belt, whipping his back until it was battered and bloodied.

It was one of the most graphic and vicious attacks the WWE has seen for a while. The assault is a clear indication that CM Punk is not done with Drew McIntyre, and vice versa.

Following Monday Night Raw, Drew McIntyre posted a photo on Twitter of the state of his back from CM Punk’s attack. He presented the photo without comment, indicating that the cuts, blood, and welts spoke for themselves.

Fans will have to wait and see where this heated rivalry will go from here.

Drew McIntyre: Personal Rivalries Are Where The Money’s At

Drew McIntyre thinks that personal rivalries trump title belts in wrestling.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Drew McIntyre discussed the perception that his match against CM Punk was the true main event of WWE SummerSlam.

He also highlighted how personal rivalries were where the money was at. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“That means a lot. I heard it a few times since I got here,” Drew McIntyre said. “The fans were asked, they didn’t even know I was there, ‘What do you think the main event should be?’ They said, ‘Punk and McIntyre.’ The deep, layered storytelling we can do it. Personal rivalries is where it’s at. That’s where the money is at. That’s what makes people feel. If they’re feeling something out of this Punk and McIntyre feud, they should because it’s real. It does mean a lot to me. If anyone is on after us, good luck, folks.”
