AEW has reportedly signed a prospect who has delivered some standout performances in recent weeks.
“Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington has made a few appearances for AEW recently. He faced Dax Harwood on the May 11 episode of AEW Collision. He later faced Konosuke Takeshita on the July 13 episode of AEW Collision. Additionally, he has been active on the independent scene. He has also wrestled for RevPro, DEFY, and MLW.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that, per talent close to Billington, he has been signed by AEW. Sapp cites talent who claimed that there was NXT interest in Billington. AEW has yet to confirm the signing, and there is no word on whether Billington signed a full-time deal or a per-appearance agreement. Sapp also notes that Tommy’s tag team partner, Mark Billington, was said to be injured in a match in December.
Tommy is the nephew of the original “Dynamite Kid” Tom Billington.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
