Wade Barrett Is Not Happy With CM Punk’s Nexus Shirt Return

Wade Barrett has some issues with the return of a classic CM Punk shirt.

WWEShop.com Tweeted out an announcement about the release of CM Punk’s latest T-shirts. They revealed that a series of retro shirts would be released for the former WWE Champion.

One of these shirts is his classic yellow and black Nexus shirt from 2011. This shirt was from his time as the leader of the New Nexus, a faction with was quietly disbanded after Money in the Bank 2011.

On their Twitter announcement, WWEShop.com wrote, “Go back in time with these CM Punk Retro Tees! Available NOW at #WWEShop! #WWE @CMPunk“.

This did not thrill Wade Barrett. The Englishman was the original leader of the Nexus, and led the group on a tear across the WWE after winning season one of NXT in 2010. However, CM Punk took over as leader of the group the following year, kicking Wade Barrett out of the group he created.

The release of the classic shirt clearly unearthed some unhappy memories. Wade Barrett replied to the Tweet about the return of the Nexus shirt, showing his disdain of it’s re-release. He Tweeted that it was “BS”, and warned that somebody in the merchandising department was due a slap.

The Smackdown commentator also tagged Drew McIntyre in the Tweet. Clearly, he is hoping the Scot can back him up against Punk, owing to his recent feud against the Straight Edge Superstar.

“A NEXUS shirt?! WTF is this BS? And who in the merch dept. is getting a slap this Friday? cc @DMcIntyreWWE
