Team AEW is complete, as the remaining members were confirmed on AEW Dynamite.
On the July 17th episode of AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) spoke with Mark Briscoe backstage. They made it clear that they wanted to be on Team AEW for the Blood & Guts match. Briscoe expressed his excitement, but he noted that he wasn’t the only one they needed to talk to. Fellow Team AEW member Swerve Strickland then noted that he approved.
In the main event, Strickland, the AEW World Champion, faced AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada. The match broke down in chaos when The Young Bucks attacked Strickland. The Acclaimed ran in for the save. Briscoe and Jack Perry got involved in the brawl as well.
“Hangman” Adam Page came out, and the fight continued.
Team AEW was outnumbered until Darby Allin’s theme played, and the former TNT Champion descended from the rafters. The two teams then continued to brawl as the show came to an end.
An on-screen graphic confirmed that Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, and The Acclaimed) will face The Elite (The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Jack Perry) in the Blood & Guts match on the July 24th episode of AEW Dynamite.
