CJ Perry Confirms AEW Exit, More Details On When She Was Released (Updated)

CJ Perry is no longer “All Elite.”

The former wife of Miro, CJ Perry, made her surprise debut with AEW last year at All Out in Chicago. Shortly after her debut, Tony Khan stated that Perry wasn’t under a long-term deal with the company.

The former AEW and WWE Superstar recently spoke with Jordan Mendoza of USA Today. When asked about her status with All Elite Wrestling, Perry confirmed her time with the company has just finished.

As far as what’s next for Perry, she made it clear she wants to continue in professional wrestling with aspirations of becoming the next Paul Heyman.

“I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible,” CJ Perry said. “I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”

Perry last appeared for All Elite Wrestling at Worlds End, when she turned on her client Andrade El Idolo and sided with her then-husband Miro. Following the match, Miro has been off TV due to various injuries while Perry was dealing with an MSRA infection.

It was later revealed in March that she and Miro were getting a divorce.

UPDATE: Fightful (via Fightful Select) is reporting more details about Perry’s exit, which apparently happened a few months ago. AEW confirmed to Fightful that Perry was actually part of the group of releases in April, although hers was not publicly announced at the time.

According to the report, Perry was originally on a per-appearance deal, but she’d signed a contract sometime after that. It was noted that Perry was not expected to return to the company, with injuries to her and her on-air clients hampering things.
