Ric Flair Had A Heart Attack In His Last Match, Found Out Nearly Two Years Later

Ric Flair suffered a heart attack in his last match, unbeknownst to him.

The Nature Boy stepped out of retirement one last time in 2022. Despite going out in a blaze of glory against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24, Ric Flair wrestled numerous times for TNA after getting into financial trouble.

It seemed like he quit the business for good, but it was not to be. Two years ago, 6,800 fans packed the Nashville Municipal Auditorium to see the 16-time World Champion wrestle for the final time.

That match didn’t exactly go well. Despite being buoyed by stars like Jeff Jarrett, Andrade and Jay Lethal, the 73-year-old legend struggled. He passed out twice in the ring, somehow finishing the match without dying in front of his adoring fans.

However, he didn’t exit unscathed. As it turns out, Ric Flair suffered a heart attack during his last match, something he discovered nearly two years later. He spoke with Bert Kreischer on Something’s Burning, and revealed his medical mishap at Ric Flair’s Last Match.

Flair told him about his heart attack, and how a doctor only discovered it during a recent medical check up. Flair thought he was dehydrated and ultimately went out and partied with Kid Rock all night after the heart attack.

“I just found out two months ago that I had a heart attack I didn’t know I had.” Ric Flair said. “I went in for a heart test, all the stuff, the whole test. The doctor came in, they put you in the waiting room, right? And he came in, he sat down, crossed his legs, and said, ‘How do you feel?’ I said, ‘I feel great.’ He said, ‘You’ve had a heart attack in the last two years.'”

“During my last match in Nashville, I passed out twice. I just went and drank some Gatorade and then went out with Kid Rock all night long. I don’t know, maybe it was two bottles of Gatorade because I thought I was just under-hydrated, and then I went out and partied with the Kid all night long.”
