Report: Stephanie Vaquer Has Had Talks With WWE And AEW, Update On WWE’s Interest

On July 10, NJPW and CMLL announced that Stephanie Vaquer had elected to remove herself from both companies’ rosters, citing personal reasons. Record Mexico then reported that, according to a source close to the negotiations, Vaquer would be joining WWE on a multi-year contract. The report noted that AEW and WWE presented their best offers to Vaquer.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) then confirmed that Stephanie Vaquer has had talks with both AEW and WWE, and both companies have maintained interest. Sapp confirmed that, as things stood, Vaquer has not signed with AEW, and she was not closing in on a deal, though interest had been conveyed.

The report notes that WWE showed interest after Forbidden Door, and sources in AEW believed that Vaquer was likely headed to WWE. Additionally, sources claim that Vaquer is bound for WWE and NXT, and she as backstage at NXT Heatwave.
