Zack Sabre Jr. Says He’s Not Done With Bryan Danielson Yet

Zack Sabre Jr. looks back on his matches with Bryan Danielson and expresses his interest in facing him again.

NJPW star Zack Sabre Jr. and AEW’s Bryan Danielson are widely viewed as two of the best wrestlers in the world. They first clashed in 2008, but they met on a major stage when they faced off at AEW WrestleDream 2023. The two competitors had a rematch at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka in February.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso for Sports Illustrated, Zack Sabre Jr. reflected on his matches against Danielson.

“I’m forever indebted to Bryan for the match he gave me back in 2008 in a little pub in Coventry,” Zack Sabre Jr. “Few wrestlers have had the direct and indirect influence on my career as old dragon bollocks. There’s also no one else in the world that I can have those kinds of matches with, so I know that we are not done yet–even with Bryan winding down his schedule.

“We could wrestle every day of the week and it would never feel like enough. I’d love to take that bout truly around the world. We’ve got a couple of continents we haven’t hit yet. Both in and out of the ring, Bryan is one of a kind.”

Both Zack Sabre Jr. and Bryan Danielson will be in action at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Sabre Jr. will clash with Orange Cassidy, while Danielson will face Shingo Takagi.
