Brooks Jensen continues to claim that he is entering free agency.
In recent weeks, Brooks Jensen has been saying that he would be leaving WWE on June 21, and he has hinted at making appearances elsewhere.
In a tweet, Brooks Jensen shared an update. He wrote, “Gone are the days of WWE NXT” and welcomed the days of celebration. The post also included a clip in which Jensen reiterated his claims that he is a free agent as of Friday, June 21.
“We’re one day away. Tomorrow marks Ben Buchanan being a free agent [laughs]. What a journey it’s been,” Brooks Jensen said. “I want to thank each and every single one of you for being part of my journey. All the way from when I started at 16 years old to now, it’s just been an experience [laughs]. But I have some great news.
“This Saturday, I had my first independent booking. That’s right. I got my first match this Saturday. Once again, thank you for being part of this, and I cannot wait to share more of my journey with all of you.”
Update: Jensen subsequently took to Twitter again and apologized for how he has been behaving. He wrote that, as of June 21, he was no longer with WWE, as his non-complete clause was officially up. He stated that it had been a hell of a ride, and he was forever thankful. Jensen thanked everyone for supporting him and wrote that today was only the beginning for the future of Ben Buchanan.
Fightful Select reports that Brooks Jensen remains a free agent, and he will be wrestling on independent shows to help sell the storyline.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
