Lexis King Shows Off Battle Scars From His Singapore Cane Match On NXT

One of the growing feuds in NXT is the one between Dante Chen and former AEW star Lexis King. It is to be noted that King’s debut match on the Black and Gold brand was against the Singaporean Wrestler. Lexis King managed to win that match.

Since then, the duo has wrestled two more times on NXT TV. Both times, Chen picked up the win. Their rivalry seemed to have come to an end this past Tuesday night in a Singapore Cane match.

Dante Chen seemed to have had the upper hand at the early stages of the match. But in the end, all his efforts went in vain as Lexis King hit his signature move and pinned Chen.

Following the win, the former AEW wrestler took to Twitter to share the after-effects of the Singapore Cane match.

“Dante Chen left his mark on me, I left my mark on NXT history #longlivelexisking,” Lexis King tweeted.

Lexis King always fantasized about having his own wrestler name

During his appearance on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, Lexis King revealed that he always wanted to have his own wrestler name. He revealed that WWE told him that the company could not keep his original name, Brian Pillman Jr.

“I don’t want to get into the details. But like when I first got there, like everything was just Brian Pillman, Jr, yada, yada, yada. And then I had some talks, they gave me the whole, you know, we can’t keep your name kind of talk. And I thought, well, I don’t want to make it seem like that’s a bad thing. Honestly, I’ve always sort of fantasized about having my own wrestler name. Because my whole career I’ve had his name. My whole life I’ve had someone else’s name I’ve been I’ve been walking around for 30 years with someone else’s name. Brian Pillman is a name that my father made. He made that name on his own. There’s not much I can add to it,” Lexis King said.
