The Elite want to face a team of AEW’s best in the company’s most violent match.
In recent months, AEW EVPs The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry have taken over AEW. The group beat Team AEW in a chaotic Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing, so their reign has continued.
On the June 12 episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland took some shots at the EVPs. The Elite came out and, after highlighting their win at AEW Double or Nothing, Nicholas Jackson said they wanted to face a team of AEW’s best in a Blood and Guts match.
Matthew Jackson then tried to recruit Swerve Strickland to be their fifth man in the Blood and Guts match, but he turned them down. The Elite was about to attack him, but The Acclaimed made the save.
Assuming these are the teams, both groups are currently missing their fifth man.
Update: AEW subsequently confirmed that AEW Blood & Guts would be held on July 24.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
