Multiple Titles Change Hands At NJPW Dominion

New champions were crowned at NJPW Dominion.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling presented NJPW Dominion on June 9, and the show featured multiple title changes. Most notably, TMDK (Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) won both the IWGP and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Titles. They faced NJPW STRONG Tag Team Champions Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo and El Phantasmo) and IWGP Tag Team Champions Bullet Club (Chase Owens and KENTA) and Bishamon (Hirooki-Goto and YOSHI-HASHI) in an elimination match.

In the end, TMDK eliminated Bishamon to score the victory. This marks TMDK’s first IWGP Tag Team Title win and their second NJPW STRONG Tag Team Title win. Guerillas of Destiny had held the STRONG titles since NJPW Resurgence on May 11. KENTA and Owens had held the IWGP titles since NJPW Dontaku Night Two on May 4.

More Title Changes

Additionally, Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, and Yota Tsuji) won the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships at NJPW Dominion. They defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi, Toru Yano, and Oleg Boltin to win the titles. The victory marks the trios’ first title reign together. BUSHI is now a five-time champion, while the win gave Tsuji his first title in NJPW. Tanahashi, Boltin, and Yano won the gold at Wrestling World 2024 in Taiwan on April 14.

Plus, Great-O-Khan regained the NJPW King of Pro Wrestling Title by defeating Yuya Uemura in a Storm Catch Rules match. This marks Great-O-Khan’s second reign with the title. Uemura previously defeated him at NJPW Road to Wrestling Dontaku Night 7 on Apri 27.
