Spoiler: New WWE Speed Champion Crowned Following 6/7 SmackDown

The WWE Speed Championship changed hands for the first time last night following last night’s episode of SmackDown.

Last night, following WWE SmackDown, Andrade defeated Ricochet to win the Speed Championship. He’s now the second man to have held this title.

This match is seemingly weeks away from airing, as the last episode of WWE Speed saw Andrade and Tomasso Ciampa advance to the finals, picking up wins over Karl Anderson and Ludwig Kaisser, respectively, in the latest tournament to earn a shot at Ricochet.

It’s been said that since this is a championship match, Andrade and Ricochet got longer than three minutes to have this match. However, how long the match actually lasted is currently unknown.

Is WWE Speed Champion the best the company has for Andrade?

Many fans expected a big push for Andrade once he returned to WWE at Royal Rumble earlier this year. Beyond getting a last-second match at WrestleMania XL, not much has come from his return so far.

The former All Elite Wrestling star is seemingly reflecting on the last couple years of his career on social media, posting an interesting tweet showcasing some of his best moments in AEW, CMLL, and AAA.
