Toni Storm will officially defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Storm appeared in a taped message at the STARDOM event on June 2 and challenged Shirakawa to face her ar AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Shirakawa then accepted the challenge.
AEW confirmed the match on the June 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Shirakawa made the save for Storm and Mariah May when Saraya and Harley Cameron attacked them on the June 5 episode of AEW Dynamite. Tensions rose between Storm and her challenger, and May calmed them down.
Shirakawa is one-third of the reigning Artist of STARDOM Champion, and she has held the Goddesses of STARDOM Championship with Mariah May.
The updated card for Forbidden Door is as follows:
