Damian Priest blames Rhea Ripley for the “Bisexual Undertaker” nickname taking off.
Priest has been compared to The Deadman in recent months, due to his size, stature and in-ring presence in the WWE. His all black, mainly leather gear has earned him the nickname of “Bisexual Undertaker.” The name trended after Priest won the world title at WrestleMania 40. Then, Drew McIntyre took it a step farther and called him “Bondage Undertaker” on an April episode of RAW, playing up on the social media popularity.
While he doesn’t care about the nickname, he still attributes the odd nickname taking off to stablemate Rhea Ripley. Damian Priest spoke on the Rob Brown Show (via Fightful), and was asked about the nickname.
Priest said that the name doesn’t affect him, but he did ask Ripley “what’s wrong with you?” when she gave it attention, which magnified its popularity.
“It’s there. It’s whatever. If fans want to have fun with stuff on social media, by all means, go ahead. If they are talking about me and it’s in a playful and harmless way, I don’t care. It doesn’t affect me. Rhea making it a thing though. She’s supposed to be my homie. What are you doing? I immediately called her and was like, ‘What’s wrong with you?’ [laughs]”
Damian Priest previously blamed Ripley for giving the moniker more attention. In an interview with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone, he revealed she also calls him other nicknames, including baby girl. He didn’t seem thrilled with these.
“Rhea sends me all those. I don’t even know what it means! The big one that Rhea gets happy about is the group of fans that call me ‘Baby Girl.’ She thinks its the funniest thing, and I’m like, ‘What is that? Why?’”
