Mercedes Mone Says Saraya Is ‘More Than Welcome’ To Wrestle Her In AEW

Mercedes Moné is open to the challenge.

Upon her March 2024 AEW debut, Mercedes Moné proclaimed her intention to create special memories both for the fans and with the women of the AEW locker room. Moné of course, is already familiar with a handful of the AEW women, including Ruby Soho, Toni Storm, Willow Nightingale, and Saraya. During a recent interview New York Post, “The CEO” discussed the possibility of rekindling her in-ring rivalry with Saraya under the umbrella of AEW.

“I’m here to face everybody, every woman here,” Moné said. “So if [Saraya] wants to be on the list, she’s more than welcome to wrestle me. She’s not gonna get any of my titles that’s for sure.”

Saraya and Moné previously wrestled each other in WWE, both on its developmental brand of NXT and its main roster. Saraya and Moné’s last square off took form in a tag team action at a December 27, 2017 WWE live event. This was the same match in which Saraya (fka Paige) suffered a career-threatening injury after Moné (fka Sasha Banks) hit with her a routine kick to her surgically repaired neck.

Should she and Saraya face off in AEW, Moné aims to “create something bigger” than just simply referencing that moment in WWE.

Saraya has since responded to Moné’s comments, indicating that she is more than willing to battle the now new TBS Champion in 2024.

“I’ve waited over 6 years to take more than just your championship @MercedesVarnado let’s go baby girl,” Saraya wrote on X.
