Tay Melo has revealed when she will be returning to the ring.
The AEW star hasn’t wrestled since May 2023, when she and her husband, Sammy Guevara, announced they were pregnant. Melo gave birth to a baby girl late last year, halting any chance of a return to wrestling any time soon.
However, the Brazilian recently posted a video on Instagram of her training, leading to speculation that fans could soon see her back and wrestling in AEW. The clip showed Tay Melo running the ropes before practicing her forward and backward roles. She didn’t miss a step after a year away, which had fans excited to see her again.
However, Tay Melo’s return is still some time away, as she revealed on Twitter. She replied to a fan who said the missed her on TV, explaining that she still has a “couple more months” until she is ready to wrestle after having her first child.
“A couple more months until I’m cleared”
Melo also confirmed that she was no longer doing OnlyFans, much to the chagrin of some fans.
Tay Melo Thought Fans Would Boo Her Pregnancy Announcement
Tay Melo did not expect the reaction she got to her pregnancy announcement on AEW Dynamite.
In an interview with TMZ Sports [via Fightfu], the Brazilian wrestler revealed that she was prepared for the crowd to boo her and Sammy Guevara when announcing her pregnancy, due to the pair’s heat with the crowd.
Luckily, they all cheered and wished the young couple well.
“It was pretty cool, we didn’t know what to expect, and we talked about it before,” Melo said. “I’m like, I don’t know, maybe the crowd is gonna boo, and then we just need to be ready for it because we never know what to expect. They were so excited, which made it so much better. I was about to cry because I was not really expecting the love, so it was really special.”
