Marigold’s debut show “Fields Forever” set significant viewership records on the Wrestle Universe streaming service.
On May 20th, Marigold held their first show as a newly established Japanese women’s wrestling promotion. The event featured former STARDOM talents such as Giulia and appearances from foreign talent in Myla Grace, Zayda Steel, and Bozilla. Freelance wrestler Sareee, the reigning SEAdLINNNG Beyond The Sea Champion, also competed in the main event of the show.
Marigold sets viewership records
“Fields Forever” saw massive viewership success. The event was exclusively broadcasted on Wrestle Universe: the premier streaming service for most of Japanese wrestling content. Per a press release, Marigold’s debut show set the following records on the platform:
- Second-largest number of viewers for an event in Wrestle Universe history (behind CyberFight Festival 2022)
- Highest number of new registered members in a single day! (excluding the day of service launch)
- Major increase in overseas subscribers (20% of Marigold’s viewers were new subscribers based abroad)
Wrestle Universe’s producer, Nariaki Nagasawa, commented on Marigold’s impressive viewership feat. “Congratulations again on the launch of Marigold. I am happy that we were able to deliver this memorable moment to people all over the world through WRESTLE UNIVERSE, and I am very excited to be able to share the excitement with all of you. Because of your support, we were able to have several times as many people as in the packed Korakuen Hall watch the live broadcast. Thank you so much. The battle for Marigold has finally begun, and we will continue to deliver it on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. Thank you for your continued support,” he says.
