Eddie Kingston Suffered ACL And Meniscus Tears, Will Require Surgery

Eddie Kingston‘s injury is worse than initially thought.

As previously noted, Eddie Kingston suffered a leg injury at NJPW Resurgence on May 11. There, he lost the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship to Gabe Kidd. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Kingston was believed to have suffered a broken leg.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that he spoke with Eddie Kingston, who confirmed that he also “suffered tears to his ACL and meniscus as well. ” These injuries will require surgery.

Johnson notes that, with these injuries, Kingston’s recovery will likely put him out of action for about nine months. Per Johnson, Kingston stated that injuries happen, and he would be back.

Due to the injury, Kingston was pulled from the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. He was replaced by Darby Allin.

WrestleZone wishes Eddie Kingston well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
