The NXT Heritage Cup has changed hands.
In the main event of WWE NXT on May 14, Tony D’Angelo won his first singles title by beating Charlie Dempsey to capture the NXT Heritage Cup. D’Angelo became the first non-European Heritage Cup Champion in NXT history.
Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play:

- Round Two: Charlie Dempsey has a cross-arm breaker on D’Angelo as the time limit expires.
- Round Three: Charlie Dempsey scores a pinfall with a German Suplex to even things up.
- Round Four: Tony D’Angelo hits a spinebuster, but the time limit expires before the three count.

Dempsey previously beat Noam Dar to win the Heritage Cup on the February 27 episode of NXT. Under the Catch Clause, No Quarter Catch Crew had been defending it as a group.
