Wes Lee is back, and he scored the win in his return to the ring on WWE NXT.
Former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee had been out of action since December, as he announced that he needed back surgery. He was set to be sidelined for eigh to twelve months, but the fan-favorite returned ahead of schedule on the April 30 episode of NXT.
Lee kicked off the May 7 episode of WWE NXT, as he discussed his injury in a video package. He then greeted members of the locker room, who gave him a standing ovation. Lee was clearly emotional as he made his way to the ring.
Lee then faced Josh Briggs and picked up the win in a hard-fought match. When Briggs brawled with Ivar after the bell, Lee took flight and dove onto them. NXT North American Champion Oba Femi watched the scene unfold. Lee previously confronted Femi upon his return.
